Through Magic Leap’s partnership with Google, I worked on two Android XR prototypes for display glasses.
I did this work as a Magic Leap employee on assignment at Google, with the engagement delivered through Magic Leap as a partner to Google.
Both were small-team efforts: a live, queryable Google Maps experience for single in-lens display glasses, and a scripted Uber rider demo I built the whole front end for.
The Maps prototype was demonstrated live at Google I/O 2025. The Uber demo was used in The Android Show: XR Edition and, in an updated form, at Google I/O 2026.
Two public prototypes
One prototype had to run live. The other had to read perfectly.
The Maps work was a functioning prototype that answered real queries on the glasses. The Uber work was a scripted demo whose job was to hold together in a single take. Google showed both in public media.
