A Maps prototype that had to work live on stage.
I worked with a UX designer and three other engineers to build a live Google Maps prototype for single in-lens display glasses.
It was queryable and fully functional. You could search for a place you wanted to walk to, start real walking directions to it, and see live nearby places as icons on the map.
My part was the nearby-places integration, map zoom driven by touch input on the glasses, the map tilt behavior, and the dynamic road labels.
At Google I/O 2025, the prototype was demonstrated live during the keynote.

Live navigation in a single in-lens display.
The on-stage demonstration showed Maps place cards and turn-by-turn guidance in the glasses view. Google ran it as a live demo rather than a recording, so the prototype had to answer real queries in front of the room.
