Force-directed graph studies of when dense data stays readable in spatial views.
I iterated from 2D physics into particle clouds, sparse structures, and an augmented-reality node inspector on iPhone.
The studies tested how node-link relationships could remain understandable as they moved from screen space into depth.
Force-directed graphs
From dense clouds to sparse structures.
The prototypes ranged from a dense particle field to a tetrahedral network and a portrait node-inspection view, giving me several ways to compare how much structure remained readable.
